All fields are required. Your email address will NOT be published. Only your username will be used to identify yourself on the boards. The sole purpose of requiring you to enter an email address is to provide a means of sending you your username and password in the event that you forget either. It will not be used for any other purpose and will not be released to anyone else. When you post messages, you only need to enter your username and password. If you enter an optional email address when you are posting a message (later on after you complete this sign up - not at this current screen), then the address you enter will be published with your post. If you do not wish for an email address to be posted with your message, then leave it blank. Either way, it is required that you specify an email address here. By signing up for this you are not implicitly entering any obligations. The only reason that a user sign up process is required is to protect the identity of people using the board (i.e. so that one user cannot pose as another and post messages).
